Journey Through Grief is a faith based ministry that exists to support and encourage those that are grieving the loss of a loved one through prayer and our own personal grief journeys. The group is a safe place to share feelings and struggles and to find commonality and understanding with those that have also experienced personal loss. Grief Triggers Can Be Healthy Triggers
As humans we long for connections with each other. The death of a loved one does not diminish that desire, but actually intensifies it. We want what we cannot have, so grief finds a way to get that connection back. Our job as grievers is to learn how to be thankful for the experiences that keep us close to our departed loved ones without being tortured by those experiences. Grief triggers can become healing triggers.
We invite you to join us tomorrow night for Journey Through Grief, as we discuss grief triggers and how we can find healing in them.
The group meets the 1st Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the young adult room at Riverlawn Christian Church. Anyone ages 18+ are welcome!
If you'd like more info regarding our meeting place and time, click "Meeting Information" at the top of the page.

Enduring Grief...
Do you have days when it feels impossible just to make it through? We all do! Anyone that has lost someone they love has been there, but it's important to remember that those feelings won't last forever! When the loss is new we are consumed with grief, and we never truly "get over it" as some might think. We keep pressing forward and the grief and feeling of loss is still there... it just changes. I remember when I lost my Dad, after 6 months I still felt like I was suffocating with sorrow, but as I clung to my faith and the promise of God's word that "joy comes in the morning," my grief did change over time. I can look back now and see where I've grown and moved forward and to look back and say that my success rate for getting through the hardest of days is 100%... I strangely find comfort in that!
I know that journeying through grief with others that understand has really been a huge help for me. If you or someone you know is struggling in their grief journey and could use some understanding and encouragement, please join us! What a difference it makes to walk alongside one another and best of all to remember that when we feel to weak so stand on our own... our Heavenly Father will carry us through.
Blessed to be joining you in the journey,

Grief... It Is The Price Of Love
“Every time we make the decision to love someone, we open ourselves to great suffering, because those we most love cause us not only great joy but also great pain. The greatest pain comes from leaving…the pain of the leaving can tear us apart.
“Still, if we want to avoid the suffering of leaving, we will never experience the joy of loving. And love is stronger than fear, life stronger than death, hope stronger than despair. We have to trust that the risk of loving is always worth taking.” — Henri Nouwen
